Ms. Howell’s 4th Grade Class
December 19, 2014

Dear Parents,

Thank you all so much for the gifts, goodies, and love you have shown to me.  I hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing holiday break!!!

Below are just a few updates of what you will find in the Friday folder and ways to prepare for the next nine weeks.

  • Congratulations to Shruthi Rajamanikandan and Jalyn Carter on being our homeroom spelling bee winners.  All those that participated did an awesome job.  Shruthi and Jalyn will go on to participate in the school-wide spelling bee in January!
  • The GA Young Author’s competition is coming up soon.  There is a note in the Friday folder about the requirements to participate.  I would love to have as many students participate as possible.  We have had Burnette students win in the past!  If you have any questions, please let me know.
  • Several students have lost scissors, pencils, crayons, markers, etc as the year has gone by.  During the holiday break, if you child does not have supplies, it would be a great time to stock up on some new supplies!  J  My extra supply bins are running low.  J
  • Remember you can always keep up with your child’s grades by looking at the parent and student portal.  As we end the nine weeks, keep in mind that most grades will be entered by December 19th.  However, some assignments may be graded and input during the holiday break.  Be sure to check the portal after January 5th for updated grades as a few assignments could be added on our teacher work day in January.
